IND vs ENG: Team India saw such a bad day after 12 years, England captured the series

July 10, 2026 by Uma Shankar

IND vs ENG 4th T20I: The tour of England has turned into a nightmare for the Indian cricket team. In the fourth T20 International match played at the County Ground in Bristol, host England shamefully defeated India by 9 wickets. With this crushing defeat, England has won the series by taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in this five-match T20 series. This is the first time in Indian cricket history after 12 years that Team India has faced defeat in a T20 series against England.

Shreyas’s hard work wasted

In this do or die match, the Indian team had a very bad start and the top order was a complete flop. However, captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front and played a fighting inning of unbeaten 80 runs in 49 balls. Thanks to this one man show of Iyer, Team India had scored a fightable score of 158 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. But the poor performance of the Indian bowlers proved this score to be quite dwarf.

Apart from Shreyas Iyer, no Indian batsman could touch the 30-run mark in this match. Shivam Dubey was the second highest run scorer with 22 runs. Whereas, Abhishek Sharma scored 16 runs and Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored only 15 runs. On the other hand, for England, Jofra Archer and Josh Tong bowled brilliantly and took 2-2 wickets. Will Jacques and Adil Rashid also took 1-1 success.

Phil Salt and Harry Brook’s Storm

The England team, which set out to chase the target of 159 runs, attacked the Indian bowlers hard from the very beginning. The English batsmen played shots all around the field, destroying the Indian bowling. After Jos Buttler was out for 8 runs, opener Phil Salt and captain Harry Brook created havoc as soon as they came on the field. Harry Brook played a brilliant captaincy innings of 72 not out off 33 balls. Whereas, Phil Salt scored unbeaten 59 runs. Due to which England achieved this target by losing only 1 wicket in 13.5 overs.
