IND vs ENG: Ravi Bishnoi’s right leg problem, if it doesn’t improve then he will continue to defeat Team India like this!

July 5, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Ravi Bishnoi Side No-Ball: In the second T20 match played against England in Manchester, India had to face defeat by 4 wickets. In this match, while the English team captained by Harry Brook registered a spectacular victory, Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi came into the news for his poor and expensive bowling. Bishnoi gave away 60 runs in his 4 over spell without taking any wicket. But more than this shameful spell, the three unique ‘no-balls’ bowled by him are being discussed more, which are called ‘side no-balls’ in the language of cricket.

Ravi Bishnoi did bad work in the 17th over.

In fact, when Ravi Bishnoi came to bowl the 17th over of England’s innings, England needed 49 runs to win in the last 24 balls and the match seemed to be under India’s control. But in the same over, Bishnoi made two consecutive blunders. On the very first ball of the over, the TV umpire found in the review that while bowling, Ravi Bishnoi’s back foot had crossed the white line of the side’s ‘return crease’. The umpire immediately declared it a no-ball. On this free-hit, Jacob Bethel hit a skyscraper six.

Bishnoi could not recover from this blow and repeated the same mistake on the very next ball. This time too his back foot crossed the line of the return crease. The umpire gave it a side no-ball for the second consecutive time and Bethel also converted this free-hit into a six. These two consecutive balls completely removed the pressure from England. After this, England needed only 20 runs in the last 18 balls, which they achieved easily.

What is ‘side no-ball’ in cricket?

In cricket, most people know about the front-foot no-ball, which is given when the bowler’s foot goes beyond the white line of the crease. But the mistake made by Ravi Bishnoi was related to the back-foot or the side line of the crease, which is called side no-ball. While bowling, the bowler’s back foot should be completely inside the vertical white lines drawn on both sides of the pitch. No part of the foot should touch or go outside this line.

Such mistakes are rarely seen in cricket. But Ravi Bishnoi surprised everyone by bowling 3 side no-balls in the same match. From this it is clear that there is a problem in Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling action and run up. In such a situation, Ravi Bishnoi will have to work on this soon, otherwise this mistake can prove very costly for him and Team India.
