
An important meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will be held today (Wednesday, May 10) on the occasion of completion of 12 years of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Modi becoming the country’s longest continuously elected Prime Minister. Top leaders of BJP including Prime Minister Modi and prominent leaders of all the constituent parties of NDA will attend this meeting.
According to sources, a resolution can be passed in the meeting welcoming this historic achievement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On June 10, PM Modi overtook India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s record of 4,399 days in office as a continuously elected Prime Minister. Although the total tenure of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was more than 14 years, her tenure as Prime Minister was not continuous. Whereas Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for the first time on 26 May 2014, was re-elected in 2019 and on 9 June 2024, he took oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time.
NDA leaders will gather in Bharat Mandapam
According to the information, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of 22 NDA ruled states and union territories will also participate in this meeting to be held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Apart from this, senior leaders of BJP and allied parties will also be present.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. were present in the meeting. Many senior leaders including Nadda and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan may participate. Whereas from NDA’s allies, Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu (TDP), Rajeev Ranjan Singh (JDU), H.D. Kumaraswamy (JDS) and Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal-S) are also likely to attend.
Focus will be on development and good governance
During the meeting, there will be discussion on ease of living, ease of doing business and better coordination between the Center and the states to achieve the goal of developed India by the year 2047.
Apart from this, national development programmes, infrastructure projects and future development plans of the central government will also be reviewed. NDA leaders will share their experiences on successful schemes and better administrative models being implemented in various states.
Advice to ministers to focus on future goals
Recently, in the meeting of the Union Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Modi had given special emphasis to the ministers on ensuring ease of living for the public. He had said that maximum benefits of government schemes should reach the people and there should not be scope for any kind of unnecessary delay or pending cases in government work.
The Prime Minister also told the ministers that in the year 2026, the government should focus on future goals and achievements instead of only taking stock of past actions. He described good governance, effective service delivery and fast decision making as the priority of the government. This meeting is being considered very important in terms of the development agenda of the coming years and the political unity of NDA.
