Regarding the issue of how expensive it has become to live and run a household in Delhi-NCR. social media But there are often debates. But this time IIT (IIT) A tweet by a PhD student has given a new turn to this debate. The student claims that a small family of two in NCR needs at least Rs 85,000 to 95,000 every month to live a normal life. As soon as this post went viral, the market of debate has heated up on the internet.

‘How are you living with Rs 50 to 60 thousand?’

This IIT scholar named Mishra Dev expressed his views through X (earlier Twitter) handle @DarrKaMahaulHai. He wrote, the cost of living in NCR is really skyrocketing. It is beyond comprehension how a married couple can survive on Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 a month. How do those who are earning less than Rs 1 lakh manage their expenses?

The student further wrote, I myself am a simple person, yet according to me the minimum expenditure for two people is Rs 85,000 to 95,000 per month. As soon as Dev’s post went viral, people living in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram jumped into the comment box to narrate the condition of their respective pockets.

50 thousand only fare in Noida!

Mixed reactions of people are being seen on this claim of IIT student. While sharing his experience of Noida, a user said that when he started looking for a 2BHK flat, he was shocked to hear the rent. 45 to 50 thousand rent was being asked for the flat without maintenance. Another resident of Delhi said, despite the fact that we have our own house, the monthly expenses of our family of three are touching Rs 70 thousand. ‘What will you do once you have children?’

This debate took an interesting turn when a user reminded that some big expenses have been left out in this entire estimate. The user wrote, why did no one talk about insurance? More than Rs 10,000 is spent every month on life, health and car insurance alone. The cost of medicines is separate, and if children are born, the cost of their school fees, tuition and extra activities will be added, then there will be a separate shock of Rs 20 thousand. ‘It’s your lifestyle that decides your expenses, not inflation’

However, not everyone agreed with this. Many netizens believed that expenditure depends more on your lifestyle than on inflation. One user said, even in an expensive city like Gurugram, people are raising their families on Rs 30 thousand a month. The real question is how you manage your expenses. Cost of living in NCR is insane. I am not able to crunch numbers how a couple can live within 50-60k a month. How people who are not making 1lakh/month are able to meet the expenses. I am kind of a minimalist and cost of living a bare minimum life is 85-95k each month for two.
