
Telangana News: The action of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday in Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana created a stir in the administrative department. ACB team raided Sameerpet Tehsildar office and exposed the bribery case. During the action, a woman Tehsildar was caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. The investigation of the case is going on and many others are also being interrogated.
Bribe was demanded in 30 acres land conversion case
According to ACB officials, a complaint was received in a case related to conversion of about 30 acres of land in Aliabad area of Sameerpet mandal. The allegation was that the Tehsildar was demanding a huge amount to carry forward the land related process. Based on the complaint, a special team was formed under the leadership of ACB DSP Anand Kumar of Ranga Reddy district, which conducted a surprise raid at the Sameerpet Tehsildar office.
30 lakhs were demanded at the rate of one lakh rupees per acre
Speaking to the media, DSP Anand Kumar said that preliminary investigation has revealed that in exchange for giving permission for land conversion, a total of Rs 30 lakh was demanded from a farmer consultant at the rate of Rs 1 lakh per acre. He said that during the investigation, a woman tehsildar was caught taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh through her driver. After this the entire team started checking the documents and records present in the office.
Many others were also interrogated
The ACB team has seized important documents related to land permit during the raid. During the investigation, many employees and officers including MRO Sucharita of Sameerpet and RDO Rajesh of Kisara are being interrogated. ACB says that all aspects related to the case are being investigated and detailed information will be made public soon.
This office has been in the headlines before too
It is noteworthy that in the year 2024 also, Sameerpet Tehsildar office had come into limelight regarding a case of corruption. At that time, the then MRO Satyanarayan and his driver were arrested by the ACB on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. Now once again the action of ACB in the same office has started a new debate regarding corruption in the district. Vigilance has increased in administrative departments also after this action.
