If you open fire on security forces, you will be dealt with strictly… Manipur DGP’s strong message, keep an eye on those spreading false information

Efforts are on to restore law and order in Manipur. Regarding this, Manipur Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Singh has given a strong message to the miscreants and those possessing illegal weapons. He has clearly warned that those who take law and order into their own hands and try to open fire on security forces will be dealt with strictly. Such people will not be spared under any circumstances.

DGP Mukesh Singh spoke to the media after his first visit to Churachandpur district on Saturday. He said that till now about 70 percent of the looted weapons have been recovered. Efforts are on to recover other weapons. Action is being taken as per law. The DGP said that orders have been given to arrest those possessing weapons. If during this time anyone tries to open fire on the security forces, they will be dealt with in self-defence. He said that this campaign will continue until the situation becomes normal.

Action will be taken against those spreading false information

Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Singh has also given a strict message regarding spreading misleading news in large quantities on social media. He said that we have a social media monitoring cell, which takes action against those spreading false information which can incite conflict between different communities. Such people are being actively monitored. Besides, action is also being taken against websites that broadcast anti-social or anti-national content.

DGP also visited Bishnupur and Churachandpur

During this, the DGP visited Bishnupur and Churachandpur, where he held meetings with police, paramilitary forces and army officials. Manipur Police said in a statement issued on Sunday that the DGP held meetings with district police officers, Central Armed Police Forces/Assam Rifles and representatives of various civil organizations. During this, it was said that he appreciated the efforts of all the units in maintaining law and order and praised the district police for the recovery of drugs, arrest of armed miscreants and recovery of illegal weapons.
