Tension between America and Iran has increased once again. President Donald Trump has given a stern warning to Iran, saying that if Iran continues to violate the ceasefire and America has to complete its military campaign, then the Islamic Republic of Iran will cease to exist. This statement has come at a time when America has carried out air strikes on many military bases of Iran for the second consecutive day. In response to this, Iran attacked Bahrain and Kuwait.
Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social that American fighter planes targeted Iran’s missile and drone bases and coastal radar systems. They allege that Iran has once again violated the ceasefire agreement. Trump said that America has been acting with restraint till now, but if Iran does not stop the attacks, America will completely end its military campaign and there will be serious consequences.
Central Command gave information
The Central Command (CENTCOM) of the US Army said that this action was taken on the orders of the President. America claims that Iran attacked the Panama-flagged oil tanker M/T Kiku with a suicide drone. This ship was passing through the Strait of Hormuz and was filled with 2 million barrels of crude oil.
According to CENTCOM, the US targeted Iran’s surveillance systems, communications networks, air defense systems, drone storage and the ability to lay mines in the sea. A day before this, America had attacked Iran’s missile, drone and coastal radar bases. America says that this action was taken in response to the Iranian drone attack on an oil tanker.
Vance supported the action
US Vice President JD Vance also supported this action. He said that Iran had signed the ceasefire agreement and America is following it. If there is any dispute regarding the agreement then talks can be held, but if Iran commits violence then violence will be responded to with violence.
After these attacks, concern about the security of the Strait of Hormuz has increased. Both America and Iran are accusing each other of breaking the ceasefire and increasing tension in the region. In such a situation, this delicate agreement made between the two countries is going through its toughest test till date.
