If no deal is made, power plants and bridges will be attacked next week… Trump’s new threat to Iran

July 15, 2026 by Uma Shankar

US President Donald Trump has once again given a strong warning to Iran. He has said that if Iran does not come to the negotiating table, America will attack its power plants and bridges next week. In an interview with Fox News, Trump said that the situation will get worse for Iran next week. We will destroy their power plants and bridges. If they will not talk, we will continue the action.

This is not the first time Trump has made such a threat. Even in March, he had said that if Iran did not agree to a peace agreement soon, America could target its power plants and water plants. However, according to international law, attacking civilian facilities such as electricity and water is considered illegal and can even be considered a war crime.

American attacks continue for 4 days

This statement of Trump has come at a time when the US Army is attacking Iran for the fourth consecutive day. Along with this, America has also resumed the naval blockade of Iran’s ports near the Strait of Hormuz. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that the purpose of these attacks is to destroy Iran’s military capabilities, which it uses to attack commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Iran’s government media, there were explosions in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island located near Hormuz and many surrounding areas. After this, the government news agency IRNA claimed that the Iranian Army launched a drone attack on a military base in Jordan, where American fighter planes are deployed.

Trump reversed his decision

meanwhile Trump He has retreated from his earlier major decision. He had earlier announced to impose a 20% guardian fee on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for American protection. But now he has withdrawn this decision. Trump said that he took this step after positive talks with the leaders of the Middle East and now America will focus on trade and investment agreements. However, he made it clear that the American blockade of Iranian ports will continue.

Trump changed this decision when only five hours were left for this fee to be implemented. In the last three days, America’s attacks and Iran’s retaliation have increased tensions in the entire Middle East. Due to this, the hopes of permanent ceasefire and peace talks between the two countries have also weakened. The ceasefire signed on June 17 is now considered almost over. The biggest dispute between the two countries is now over control of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that America’s new blockade has almost neutralized the Islamabad agreement.
