Well-known Hollywood actor and musician Idris Elba is known all over the world for his songs and acting. Recently, a big moment came for the actor’s fans, when he was honored with a big honour. Britain’s King King Charles gave him the title of ‘Knighthood’ during a special program held at Windsor Castle.
After this honour, now 53 year old Idris Elba will be officially called ‘Sir Elba’. What is even more special is that he has been given this honor not for his films or brilliant acting, but for helping the poor and destitute youth of the society.
King Charles gave great respect
How much this honor means to Idris Elba can be gauged from the fact that he did not even go to the premiere of his upcoming big film ‘Masters of the Universe’ in New York. When King Charles honored Idris by placing a sword on his shoulder as per tradition, Idris was overjoyed. He shared a very lovely picture on social media holding the hand of his wife Sabrina and wrote – ‘We are grateful from the heart. Our work for the youth will continue like this in future also.
Become ‘Sir’ not for acting
Actually, Idris and his wife Sabrina together run an organization, which takes care of the education, employment and food of poor children. This story of Idris Elba is really like a movie. When Idris was just 18 years old and was struggling in the world of acting, a charity organization of King Charles gave him some financial help to move ahead. Today, years later, the same boy, on the basis of his hard work and goodness, has received Britain’s biggest honor directly from the King.
