I will not let Iran make nuclear weapons… Netanyahu said amid possibilities of a deal

June 12, 2026 by Uma Shankar

US President Donald Trump is showing optimism about the possible agreement between America and Iran. Now Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also tried to present this possible agreement as a success for Israel. By doing this he is probably trying to reduce his political losses. “As long as I am Israel’s prime minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu promised in a statement issued from his office.

Netanyahu further said, “There is complete agreement between President Trump and me on this issue.” Netanyahu says he has led the international fight against Iran’s nuclear programs for more than three decades. He also said, “If this conflict had not happened, Iran would have long ago acquired a nuclear bomb to destroy Israel.” Netanyahu concluded by saying, “Iran is trying to destroy the Jewish state and I have dedicated my life to stopping them from doing so. As long as I am Prime Minister of Israel, that will not happen.”

Everything else I am the head of the government of Israel – Israel will not have nuclear weapons.

There is complete agreement between me and President Trump on this issue.

For over 30 years I have been at the forefront of the international fight against Iran’s nuclear program.

As a result of this conflict, Iran has been destroying Israel for a long time.

What is Iran’s condition for ceasefire?

While Trump and Netanyahu are trying to show their victory over a possible deal, Iran has also made its conditions clear. According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, during the 60-day period, Washington and Tehran will negotiate and try to resolve three outstanding issues that were not addressed in the current MoU. The agency said, “These three issues are, continuing the peaceful nuclear program, removing sanctions and creating a way to compensate for the losses.” “Final negotiations will not begin until half of Iran’s frozen funds are released and oil sanctions are lifted.”

Will Israel’s attacks on Lebanon again become an obstacle to the deal?

Upon signing the current draft of the memorandum, Washington has promised to force Israel to end the war in Lebanon. But meanwhile Israel has again issued a warning to evacuate the areas of Lebanon. Israel has ordered the forced displacement of residents of three villages in southern Lebanon. These include Sarafand, a village located 10 km south of Sidon on the Mediterranean Sea in southern Lebanon. Also included are Tufaha and Mazarat Sinai, both of which are in the Sidon district.
