
Amid the ongoing debate over allegations of cross-voting by MLAs in the assembly elections, BJP MLA from Belur assembly constituency in Hassan district, H.K. Suresh has given a big statement. He said that he did not betray the party. There was no defection. Showing allegiance to the party, he took oath at the historic and famous Sri Channakesavaswamy Temple complex in Belur.
The MLA took oath by touching the yagya stone (Karikallu) situated in front of the temple complex and said loudly three times, ‘This stone bears witness that I have not voted for any party in the Legislative Council elections. He repeated this thrice and said that as long as I am alive, I will not betray the BJP. I have not betrayed the Bharatiya Janata Party.

After taking oath in the temple, BJP MLA Suresh said, the false propaganda of cross-voting being spread against me is a big conspiracy. The glorious Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi himself had come to our constituency and campaigned. If I do injustice to such leaders and the party, God will never forgive me. God is the witness.

MLA H.K. Suresh further said that no one can buy me, neither with money nor with violence. I can be bought only by the love of the people. It is the love of so many people that protects me. I have taken this oath so that God himself reveals to everyone the truth behind this conspiracy hatched against me. Let us tell you that BJP MLA H.K. Suresh visited Channakesavaswamy temple on Tuesday morning. He had darshan of Channakesavaswami, Soumyanayaki and Ranganayaki Amma and offered special prayers.
