Anurag Kasyap on Obsession: Anurag Kashyap’s recent release ‘Bandar’ did not do much at the box office. On the other hand, there is no craze in theaters for Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Main Vyapar Aaunga’. Hindi films may not be doing well at the Indian box office, but the Hollywood film ‘Obsession’ is earning handsomely. Carrie Barker’s ‘Obsession’ is overshadowing ‘Bandar’ and ‘I will be back’ at the box office and Anurag Kashyap is angry over this. Anurag Kashyap says that if we do not give priority to our own films, then how will we move forward.
At present, 14 films are fighting for a place at the box office, due to which it has become difficult for small films to make their place. Among the films releasing this week, ‘I will be back’, ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’, ‘Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past’, ‘Heer Sara’, ‘Disclosure Day’, ‘Governor’ and ‘Backrooms’ are also running in theatres. These include Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Bandar’, which has received praise from critics. However, the filmmakers are not happy with the release of so many films simultaneously and have openly expressed their concern about this situation.
Anurag Kashyap got angry
Posting the story on Instagram, Anurag Kashyap wrote, “I completely understand that everyone wants to see ‘OBSESSION’, but it can be run for a long time even with fewer shows. If we don’t give priority to showing our films in a better way, then I don’t understand how we will move forward. This happened with ‘BANDAR’ last week and the same with ‘MAIN VAPIS AUNGA’, ‘SING GHEETAM’ and ‘GOVERNER’ this week. There is one morning show of ‘MVA’ and maybe one more show in some theatres, the same is the case with ‘SING GHEETAM’, whereas there are 6-7 shows of ‘OBSESSION’.

monkey’s earnings
