Satluj: Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sutlej’ is currently trending on social media. People are searching and watching the film, even before it was removed from ZEE5, most of the people had seen the picture. Even now some people are uploading the entire film on X, which the rest are downloading and watching. The film ‘Sutlej’ was released on the OTT platform Zee5 on Friday, but it was removed from OTT within 48 hours. After which Diljit Dosanjh came on Instagram Live and reacted on the removal of the film. In fact, the film was stuck in the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for 4 years and when it came on OTT, it was removed within 48 hours. Recently it was found out that Diljit has not taken any fees for this film. Yes, he said yes to the director with folded hands.
‘Sutlej’ Director Honey Trehan recently told how he talked to Diljit Dosanjh about this film. And how he had agreed to the film without any fee. There are wonderful reactions from people on the director’s viral video. He told that, “Diljit Dosanjh did not ask for a single penny for doing this role. He folded his hands and said – Waheguru ji. He asked me, sir, tell me when to come and where to come. You just tell me, I will come there.”
Diljit did not take any fees for ‘Sutlej’
Honey Trehan, director of ‘Sutlej’ told that, “I had told Diljit paaji that I want to make a film which is set after 1984. After which he looked at me and said, let me tell you one thing honestly, after 1984, there are no such stories in Punjab on which an entire film can be made. So the director said that, I have read a few things, then Diljit replied that one. There is a big personality and his name is Jaswant Singh. The only problem is that the whole of Punjab has tried it, but you tell me.
After which the director says – “I had a research book and till then I had only done research. There was a photo of Jaswant Singh Khalda in the first page and it was written on top – JSK. I took it out and told Diljit, ‘Here is it, Paaji. I told him that I want to make a film on Jaswant Singh Khalda. And I want you to play the role of Jaswant Singh Khalda in it. You will not believe what happened after that. Diljit did not say anything about the fee, he folded his hands. Said- Waheguru ji and asked when to come and where to come?
