According to the election affidavit, DK Shivakumar is counted among the richest leaders of the country and has assets worth billions of rupees.
What is the net worth of DK Shivakumar?
According to the election affidavit given during the 2023 assembly elections, DK Shivakumar and his family have huge assets worth Rs 1,413.78 crore. There has been a huge increase in his wealth as compared to the 2018 elections, because in 2018 he had declared his total wealth to be Rs 840.08 crore. According to this election document, Shivkumar also has a liability i.e. debt of about Rs 263 crore.

This surge in his wealth within five years shows that the value of his real estate and other investments has increased rapidly.

According to the election affidavit, he has a years old ‘Toyota Qualis’ car. However, he is definitely fond of expensive and luxury watches. He owns watches from the world’s famous brands ‘Rolex’ and ‘Hublot’. Apart from this, they also have a good amount of gold and silver.
Has become a trouble-shooter for Congress
DK Shivkumar’s political journey has been quite long. He entered electoral politics in the 1980s and was elected to the Karnataka Assembly for the first time in 1989. At present, he is the MLA from Kanakapura seat and is also holding the responsibility of the post of President of Karnataka Congress. In previous governments, he has handled important ministries like energy and urban development. In the election affidavit for the year 2023, he had also informed that at the time of filing nomination, there were 19 criminal cases pending against him.
Within the Congress party, he is seen as a big trouble-shooter. During the 2017 Rajya Sabha elections, when Gujarat Congress MLAs were kept in a resort in Bengaluru due to fear of being defeated, DK Shivakumar became the center of discussion in the entire country. After the big victory of Congress in the 2023 elections, he was given the charge of Deputy Chief Minister in the Siddaramaiah government.
