The state has crossed the historical figure of 2 gigawatt (GW) installed capacity. With this achievement, Uttar Pradesh has joined the country’s prestigious “2 GW rooftop solar club”, where till now only leading states like Gujarat and Maharashtra had presence.

Under the scheme, a large number of consumers have adopted clean and cheap energy by installing solar plants on the rooftops of their homes.

During this, UP NEDA Ravinder Singh said that this achievement in the energy sector is not just a statistical milestone, but is a symbol of the growing steps towards energy self-sufficiency in the state. UPNEDA’s empaneled vendors, electricity department officers and employees, banking institutions and lakhs of consumers have played an important role in this success of the state. The coordinated efforts of various departments and institutions have contributed in making solar energy a mass movement.
