
On Monday, in Dubai city of United Arab Emirates (UAE), a minibus following a truck suddenly stopped in the middle of the road and collided with it. Many Indian workers died in this accident. The Indian Consulate in Dubai said in a post on social media platform X that we are deeply saddened by the tragic road accident in Dubai in which many Indian workers lost their lives.
The Indian mission said it is in touch with the local authorities to provide all possible assistance and support. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, director of the traffic department of Dubai Police, said that preliminary investigation revealed that the truck suddenly stopped in the middle of the road due to a technical fault. The bus driver allegedly did not pay attention and did not maintain safe distance and hit the truck from behind, he said in a statement.
7 people died, 9 injured
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, director of the traffic department of Dubai Police, said that preliminary investigation revealed that the truck suddenly stopped in the middle of Emirates Road due to a technical fault. The bus driver allegedly did not pay attention and did not maintain safe distance, due to which he hit the truck from behind, he said in a statement. He further said, 7 people died and 9 were injured in this accident, of which five were seriously injured and four were moderately injured. All the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Indian Consulate officials visited the hospital and met the injured Indians. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the affected families in this difficult time. Brigadier Juma Salem said that to find out the exact cause of the accident, experts from the Traffic Accident Investigation Section have been sent to the spot so that they can inspect and collect accurate evidence.

Truck and bus removed from the road
He said the traffic patrol controlled the traffic, secured the incident site and facilitated the movement of rescue vehicles. The work team also removed the damaged truck and bus so that traffic could flow normally.
