Here preparations for the deal, on the other side Iran closed the routes to uranium reserves, laid mines on the routes

June 13, 2026 by Uma Shankar

A peace agreement is going to be signed between America and Iran soon. Before this, Iran has taken major steps to further secure the approximately half a ton of highly enriched uranium it has. According to American intelligence sources, Iran has deliberately demolished the tunnels where this uranium is kept. Besides, gunpowder has also been laid at the entry points of the tunnels. Sources say that now accessing this uranium has become more difficult, dangerous and time consuming than before.

According to CNN report, this step has been taken at a time when Donald Trump had indicated that if necessary, America can take military action to take possession of this nuclear material. Talks are going on between Iran and America to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The issue of removal and destruction of Iran’s enriched uranium is also included in this conversation. However, Iran says that after the signing of the deal, talks on the nuclear program will take place for 60 days.

Difficult to extract uranium even for Iran

Experts say that now it will not be easy for Iran itself to extract this uranium. For this, heavy digging machines, opening of tunnels and removal of landmines will be required. This work is considered quite risky.

Former American nuclear expert Scott Roecker says that if this information is correct then it will be very difficult to safely extract and examine the uranium. He also expressed fear that Iran might claim in the future that some uranium is inaccessible, which could make a full inspection of its nuclear stockpile difficult.

Where is uranium hidden?

The international community believes that most of the uranium is kept in the collapsed tunnels of the Isfahan Nuclear Facility in central Iran. Some material may also be available at other locations. In May, America had considered a military operation to capture this material, but it was not approved due to the high risk.

According to the report, even if an agreement is reached between America and Iran in the coming days, the process of removing and destroying uranium will take a lot of time. Trump has already said that it may take at least two weeks to complete this work.
