After the defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, TMC has started falling apart like a pack of cards. After the split in the legislative party, the parliamentary party is now on the verge of collapse. 19 MPs of Trinamool Congress have written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla claiming to form a separate faction. On Saturday, the name of senior TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay was added to this rebel group of TMC.

Sudip Bandyopadhyay met Union Home Minister Amit Shah after his meeting with Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav on Saturday and shook hands with rebel TMC MPs. These rebel MPs will hold a meeting on Sunday and will meet Speaker Om Birla on Monday and claim to form a separate faction.

Mamta’s action on Sayani and Sudeep

On the other hand, after meeting the rebel leaders, Trinamool Congress Trinamool Congress replaced Sudip Bandopadhyay as North Kolkata TMC president and Kunal Ghosh was made the new president. in the same way MP Sayani Ghosh removed from the post of TMC Youth President. Arnab Banerjee has been appointed president of the state Trinamool Youth Congress.

After the rebellion in the party, Mamata Banerjee held a meeting at her residence. After this meeting, MP Kalyan Banerjee said that it was a working committee meeting. Sukhendu Shekhar Ray and Sushmita Dev have resigned from all the posts, hence two posts became vacant.

They said that Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Mala Roy and another who have moved to the other side and are forming a separate group have been removed from the working committee. Saugata Roy and Jyotipriya Malik have been included in the working committee. Kunal Ghosh has been made the President of Kolkata North in place of Sudip Bandyopadhyay. Sayoni Ghosh has been removed from the post of President of Trinamool Youth Congress.

Rebel MPs will hold a meeting on Sunday

meanwhile, Amidst the growing political crisis in Trinamool Congress, rebel MPs will hold an important meeting on Sunday to decide their future strategy. Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari will reach Delhi at around 6 pm on Sunday evening and a dinner meeting will be held at the house of Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar.

Sources say that rebel MPs may also meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday, so that they can give official support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Rebel MPs claim that about 20 rebel TMC MPs have decided to support NDA in the interest of the country. The letter signed by these MPs has already been given to the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Rebel MPs will support NDA

Earlier, rebel MP Jagdish Chandra Barma Basunia said that the MP will meet the Speaker on Monday to seek recognition as the “real TMC”. “We will request them to recognize our group,” Basunia said. Trinamool Congress is facing its most serious internal crisis since its formation. The rebellion by a group of MPs and MLAs reportedly followed the party’s poor performance in the recent assembly elections, raising questions over Mamata Banerjee’s leadership.

Earlier, 19 rebel MPs, including senior leaders Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Shatabdi Roy, submitted their names to the Lok Sabha Speaker’s office on May 18, just weeks after the election results. He reportedly sought separate seating arrangements in the Lok Sabha, indicating organizational divisions within the party’s parliamentary wing.

The list of rebel MPs reportedly includes the names of Bapi Haldhar, Sharmila Sarkar, Prasun Bandyopadhyay, Jagdish Burma Basunia, Asit Kumar Mal, Arup Chakraborty, Rachna Banerjee, Sayoni Ghosh, Khalilur Rahman, Abu Tahir Khan, Yusuf Pathan, Mitali Bagh, Mala Roy, Kalipadh Soren, Deepak Adhikari, June Maliya, Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Parth Bhowmik.
