Half the population will now get their rights… UCC Bill passed in MP Assembly, law will be made after President’s approval

July 21, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The day of 21st July was recorded in golden letters in the history of Madhya Pradesh. Under the leadership of CM Yadav, the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill was passed in the Assembly on July 21. CM said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and National President Nitin Nabin, our party is continuously working with the resolve of equality, social justice and public welfare.

After the passing of this bill, it will now go for the approval of the President. After the approval of the President, it will be implemented in the state as a law. After the implementation of this law, the lives of people of all religions will run according to one law. Neither will anyone in the state be able to take triple talaq, nor will he be able to perform Halala, nor will he be able to misuse live-in relationship, nor will he be able to take control over anyone’s property.

Our government is running on moral basis

CM Yadav Said that our government will provide their rights to the sisters of half the population of the state. He said that not only in marriage, but also in matters of inheritance, the rights of a man will be the same as that of a woman. Similarly, all the rights from adopted son to life will be implemented equally on everyone.

The Chief Minister said that in case of live-in relationship, if anyone violates the prescribed age of 18 and 21 years, or misuses the live-in relationship for extra-marital affair, then he will be jailed for 5 years. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that our government is running on moral basis.

Many types of reform works are going on in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this category, Madhya Pradesh has taken concrete steps and reached new heights by passing the Uniform Civil Code law. On my own behalf, I congratulate the entire state.

There should be common law, not Sharia.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that on this occasion I would like to ask a question to Congress as to why it always wants to differentiate between Hindus and Muslims. If we want to see Ram and Rahim from the same perspective, then why should there be discrimination between the two. He said, ‘We all are sons of Mother India, where is the question of discrimination.’ Congress has worked for years to make brother against brother fight.

The partition of the country happened because of the wrong mentality of Congress. An attempt was made to make a wrong law on the soil of Madhya Pradesh also. He said that Jagdishpur was made Islampur. Our cabinet decided on the same ground that instead of Sharia law, a uniform law should be implemented. I am happy that the Madhya Pradesh Assembly has given an opportunity to improve everyone’s life by supporting a uniform law.

A new example of women empowerment will be set

After the passing of UCC, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav wrote on social media that today a golden chapter has been added in the history of Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Assembly passed the ‘Madhya Pradesh Uniform Civil Code, 2026’ (UCC) Bill by voice vote.

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and National President Nitin Nabin, our party is continuously working with the resolve of equality, social justice and public welfare. This law will set a new example of women empowerment and will further strengthen our commitment towards equal justice, equal rights and constitutional values.
