Grand event of Yoga Day tomorrow in Kolkata, lakhs of people will join PM Modi; record will be made

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the 12th International Yoga Day celebrations at the historic Red Road in Kolkata on Sunday, June 21. Thousands of yoga practitioners are expected to participate in this program and lakhs of people will join virtually from India and across the world. International Yoga Day 2026 will be celebrated across the world on Sunday.

This program organized by the Ministry of AYUSH will start at 5 am, in which the Prime Minister will address the Common yoga Will lead the protocol. Practice will take place from 6 am to 6:30 am. The Prime Minister’s speech will be held from 6:30 am to 7 am. According to the guidelines of the Ministry of AYUSH, yoga practice will start from 7 am. Yoga practice will last for 45 minutes.

The Prime Minister himself will also do yoga. About 30,000 people will participate in yoga practice on Red Road. Yoga Day will also be celebrated at other places across the state.

Yoga will be held on 500 boats on Hooghly River

Yoga asanas will be done on boats. Yoga will be done on more than 500 boats on the Hooghly river. It is believed that it will make a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Let us tell you that for the first time after the formation of BJP government in West Bengal, Yoga Day program is being organized on such a large scale. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the people to participate in the yoga program in the program organized in Tarakeshwar on Saturday.

After completing the Yoga Day program from Red Road, the Prime Minister will return to Lok Bhawan and then go to the port for the function. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the three warships. After finishing the port ceremony, he will go directly from the race course to Kolkata Airport by helicopter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Delhi on a special flight from Kolkata Airport.

Yoga will be practiced at 100 famous places

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Culture is organizing special yoga celebrations at 100 famous places in the country, which will connect India’s rich cultural heritage, historical places and yoga traditions. Under this initiative, big celebrations will be held at twelve special places including Red Fort in New Delhi, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, Konark in Odisha, Hampi in Karnataka, Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu, Mumbai in Maharashtra, Nalanda in Bihar, Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh, Leh in Ladakh, Hyderabad in Telangana and Silchar in Assam.

Ahead of the ceremony, the Yoga Sangam portal of the Ministry of AYUSH has achieved a major milestone with the registration of more than six lakh organizations. The ministry said that the increasing participation shows great enthusiasm among institutions, communities and citizens to make yoga a true mass movement.

Adding a twist to the event, the Culture Ministry, in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), will organize special yoga programs at 100 famous places across the country. The aim of this initiative is to connect India’s cultural heritage with its yoga traditions.
