Government’s foolproof action against illegal infiltrators! Blueprint for action will be ready on July 9

July 1, 2026 by Uma Shankar

After the campaign to free the country from Naxalism, now the next big focus of the Central Government is illegal infiltration. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an important meeting of DGPs of all the states and top security and intelligence agencies of the country on July 9. This meeting will be held in hybrid mode. There will be an in-depth discussion in this meeting which will last for about 6-7 hours from noon to late night at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in Delhi. In the meeting, not only the strategy for identifying illegal infiltrators and sending them back, but also the roadmap for action on the entire network that protects them will be prepared.

After the meeting on July 9, a common strategy can be finalized between the Center and the states. The focus will not only be on the identification and return of illegal infiltrators, but preparations are also underway to take action against the entire network that protects them. This is being considered as the preparation for the biggest coordinated action ever taken against illegal infiltration across the country. The agenda of the meeting is clear. Speed up the process of identifying illegal infiltrators across the country, deporting them and preparing a common strategy to destroy the entire eco-system related to infiltration. The Home Minister has reiterated his commitment regarding this issue on several occasions.

There will be a tough attack on infiltrators

The government believes that the challenge is not limited to just crossing the border. The entire network of settling infiltrators, providing fake documents, providing employment and taking them to different parts of the country is active. According to sources, the strategy to deliver the biggest attack on this network will also be discussed in the meeting.

Home Minister’s high level committee held today

In fact, on August 15 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described the demographic change in the border areas from the Red Fort as a national security challenge. After this, recently the Home Ministry formed a high-powered committee under the chairmanship of retired judge Justice Prakash Srivastava, which is studying the border areas as well as metropolitan and industrial cities. The second meeting of this committee was held today under the chairmanship of the Home Minister.

Today this high level committee told the Home Minister that it will visit different states and union territories to get direct information at the ground level. The high level committee will also interact with various ministries of the central government so that feedback can be taken on issues related to population change.

Suggestion to recommend as soon as possible

The committee also informed that in order to make the visits to the states and union territories more meaningful and interactive, a detailed questionnaire has been prepared to obtain necessary information from them in advance. Appreciating the strategy made by the High Level Committee, the Home Minister directed the Home Secretary to provide all possible assistance to the committee. He suggested the high level committee to give its recommendations as soon as possible.

The campaign will run simultaneously across the country

The government believes that this challenge can be effectively dealt with only by running a simultaneous campaign in the entire country instead of taking separate action in different states. Consideration is also being made on whether a time limit can be set to expel illegal infiltrators from the country on the lines of the end of Naxalism. In such a situation, now the focus will be on this high-level meeting, from where the blueprint for further action against illegal infiltration across the country is expected to be decided.
