Amidst concerns related to identity theft (impersonation) and security, the central government has issued a notice to Meta. The government has sought detailed information from the company on the new ‘Username’ feature of WhatsApp within three days. According to the information, the government has also instructed Meta not to launch it for all users until the potential impact of this feature is fully assessed.
