Saudagar Actor Vivek Mushran: Subhash Ghai’s film ‘Saudagar’, released in 1991, launched two new faces in Bollywood. One of them was Manisha Koirala and the other was Vivek Mushran. Born on 9 August 1969 in Renukoot, Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, Vivek Mushran’s Bollywood debut was no less than a dream. ‘Saudagar’ was included in the biggest films of the year 1991 and its song ‘Ilu Ilu’ proved to be a huge hit. This song, a short form of ‘I Love You’, became the identity of that era and Vivek became one of the most popular young stars of the 90s.

In the year 1995, he also appeared in the film ‘Ram Jaane’ with Shahrukh Khan. However, none of his subsequent films could repeat the success of ‘Saudagar’ and gradually his film career started derailing.
