Big information has come to light regarding the ongoing talks between America and Iran. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that good news may come about Iran in the next few hours. Rubio is on a 4-day official visit to India. During a joint press conference with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Rubio said that there has been progress in talks in the last 48 hours, which can lead to a solution to Hormuz. This statement of Rubio comes after the statement of US President Donald Trump, in which he said that Washington and Tehran are close to finalizing a deal.
Trump gave information about the possible US-Iran deal on his Truth social account. It said that talks between the two countries on ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz have reached the final stage. Trump said that the final points of the agreement are still under discussion and it can be announced soon. However, he did not clarify what other conditions would be included in this deal.
Stuck in uranium issue
Meanwhile, a New York Times report claimed that Iran has agreed to give up its reserves of highly enriched uranium. The report quoted US officials as saying that Iran has agreed in principle to remove its highly enriched uranium stock. According to the report, this issue will be discussed in detail in the next 30 to 60 days.
America has long wanted Iran to limit its nuclear program. However, later a senior Iranian officer refuted this claim. Speaking to Reuters, the official said that the nuclear issue is not included in the initial agreement that is being prepared. He clearly said that Iran has not given any consent to send its highly enriched uranium out of the country.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran currently has about 400 kg of uranium enriched up to 60 percent, which is considered very close to the level of weapons.
Britain said Iran will have to open Hormuz
British Prime Minister Keir Storm has said that in any agreement between America and Iran, the Strait of Hormuz should be completely opened without any conditions and without any restrictions. Starmer wrote on social media platform According to him, there should be an agreement that ends the conflict and the Strait of Hormuz is fully opened again. Starmer also said that Iran should never be allowed to make nuclear weapons.
