For this, the Home Department has also made important amendments in the ‘Madhya Pradesh Police (Appointment of Excellent Sportspersons) Rules, 2021’. A notification in this regard has been published on June 15. Through the revised rules, the selection, eligibility and evaluation process of outstanding players has been made more transparent, well-organized and effective.

Under the new provisions, the Home Department will conduct the recruitment process from sports quota regularly every year. This will provide permanent and structured opportunities to the players. There will be relaxation in parameters
Let us tell you, under the new amendment, the police headquarters will advertise the vacancies for the posts of constable and sub-inspector every year. Along with medal winners, now players who participated in Olympics, Asian and Commonwealth Games will also be eligible for direct recruitment. Full relaxation in prescribed educational qualification and physical criteria (height) will be provided to outstanding players. Besides, they will also be exempted from written examination and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Appointments of outstanding players will not be included in any reserved category but in the unreserved (general) category. Only those sports disciplines will be valid, which have been included in the last three Olympic Games. In case of equal merit marks, seniority will be decided on the basis of priority of Olympics, Asian Games, World Cup etc. and age of the player.
Who can become a sub inspector?
Direct appointment to the post of Sub Inspector will be given only to those excellent players who have participated in Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cup-World Championship. Gold, silver or bronze medal winners and players participating in these competitions will be eligible.
Who can become a constable?
All the players eligible for the post of Sub Inspector, those players who fulfill the prescribed eligibility for the post of Sub Inspector, will also be considered automatically eligible for the post of Constable. Players who have won gold, silver or bronze medals in national games. Players who have won gold, silver or bronze medal in the authorized national championship will be eligible for the post of reserve.
