The country’s leading airline Air India has reduced its fuel surcharge for some countries. Due to which flight tickets to those countries will become cheaper. This relief is being considered as a big monsoon gift from Air India. If experts are to be believed, other airlines may also be seen doing the same in the coming days. Let us tell you that the prices of crude oil in the international market have seen a decline of 28 percent since May 25. Let us also tell you what kind of announcement has been made by Air India.
Air India reduced fuel surcharge
Amid the recent fall in petroleum prices, Air India has reduced fuel surcharge on flights to North America, Australia, Europe and Britain. Sources said on Thursday that fuel surcharge on these flight routes has been reduced from $280 to $200 per ticket for North America and Australia. At the same time, fuel surcharge for Europe and Britain has been reduced from $205 to $125. The revised rates have become effective from July 1. However, no comment has come from Air India in this regard.
was increased in April
The Tata Group airline had imposed fuel surcharge on tickets on April 7 due to the rise in prices of crude oil and aviation fuel (ATF) due to the West Asia conflict. At that time, operating expenses had increased due to cost increases and airspace restrictions. However, there has been no change in fuel surcharge for other international and domestic flights. Air India Group had earlier imposed surcharges ranging from $24 to $280 on international flights and Rs 299 to 899 on domestic flights. According to industry data, ATF accounts for about 40-45 percent of the total cost of any airline. In such a situation, the reduction in fuel prices has a direct impact on fares and surcharges.
