
Daniela Klett, Germany’s most wanted woman and the last fugitive member of the far-left group Red Army Faction, has been sent to jail. The court has sentenced Klett to 13 years imprisonment. Clatt had been a nuisance to the police for more than 30 years. She was living under changed name in Berlin for 30 years. The police had arrested Klett in the year 2024, after which, after keeping him in police remand for 14 months, he was sent to jail for a sentence of 13 years.
Weapon recovered from home
During the arrest, the police found a cache of weapons, gold, wigs, a fake bazooka, fake documents, cash collected from the robbery from Klett’s house. Klett was produced before the court in 2025, after which the case continued for 14 months. Klett is the only woman who was on Europe’s most wanted list. According to a BBC report, Klett committed the robberies along with fellow former RAF members Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub, who are still at large. It is alleged that together the trio stole approximately 2.4 million euros through a series of robberies, which they used to make ends meet after the RAF officially disbanded in 1998.
Resolved to fight capitalism
When this trial started, Klett condemned it, calling it political pressure. Resolved to continue our fight against capitalism. Klett was accused of committing several major robberies along with his associates between 1999 and 2016. With this, money could be raised for the survival of the remaining fugitives of the group living underground.
Anger visible among supporters
When the court sentenced Klett to 13 years imprisonment, she appeared quite calm. However, Klate’s supporters present in the court protested against this decision of the court and raised slogans for his release. During the ongoing trial in the court, not the slightest remorse was visible on Clayt’s face. After Klett’s conviction, the German police are now searching for his two accomplices, Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub.
