A meeting of India Alliance was held in Delhi today, in which leaders of all parties participated. At the same time, BJP has launched a scathing attack on the opposition regarding this meeting. The party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra described the India Alliance as a group of political parties which the public is continuously rejecting in the elections and whose hold on the ground has weakened.
Sambit Patra said that there was a time when India Alliance meetings were held in big stadiums and leaders used to hold hands to demonstrate unity, but now the situation has become such that the meetings have been limited to one room. He sarcastically said that the parties in the alliance not only contest elections against each other, but there is also no ideological unity among them. In such a situation, this alliance seems to be trying only to save political existence.
‘Opposition parties should first manage their own houses’
Referring to recent political developments, the BJP spokesperson said that there is dissatisfaction within the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, while in Rajasthan the Congress is also facing internal challenges. He said that the opposition parties should first manage their respective houses and then talk about unity.
Patra got angry on raising the issue of SIR and vote theft
BJP also hit back at the questions raised by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge after the India Alliance meeting on the issue of SIR and alleged vote theft. Terming it as double politics, Sambit Patra said that in the states where Congress or its allies are in power, no questions are raised on this process.
Reminded about women’s reservation
He said that Congress President Kharge has demanded an all-party meeting on this issue, but when the government had called an all-party meeting on an important topic like women’s reservation, the opposition parties did not show seriousness in it. He said that some leaders had attended the meeting through mobile phones only.
‘The public rejected the opposition’
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra sarcastically said that the people of the country have made these parties politically inactive. They have rejected these completely and now they are constantly trying to appear active to keep themselves relevant.
