In the year 2013, a film ‘Lootera’ was released. Ranveer Singh had a very emotional and famous dialogue in this film, in which his character ‘Varun’ says that he wants to see Chandratal once before dying. Far ahead of Manali, in the middle of the Himalayas… blue-green water and not even the slightest sound. This scene and dialogue of the film touched the hearts of people so much that whenever its clip goes viral on the internet, people pack their bags and leave for Chandratal.
Everyone wants to reach there to tick off their ‘bucket list’. But is reaching Chandratal really as easy and romantic as it looks in the movies? The answer is absolutely not! And the proof of this is a funny video going viral on Instagram, seeing which you will burst out laughing, but at the same time you will also understand the ground reality.
What is shown in this video?
In this video, a man turns the camera towards his female companion and says that she had to see Chandratal before she dies! Then he laughs and says that now it seems that she will die as soon as she reaches Chandratal. After this he changes the angle of the camera and shows his helplessness by saying that brother, it has been half an hour of walking, but Chandratal is not showing any sign of coming! At this point the video ends.
This clip is so relatable that people are not able to stop laughing after watching it. Apart from this, people are also giving their reactions by commenting on it. One user wrote that brother, we too had the same condition while going to Chandratal, we started feeling short of breath. Another user while enjoying wrote that perhaps you were on the wrong path, we had come to Chandratal twice in 30 minutes! Another user wisely said that this is absolutely correct… At such a high altitude the air becomes thin, due to which even walking a few steps feels like climbing a mountain.
Let us tell you that Chandratal, which the world calls Moon Lake, is located in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. This is not a common tourist place, but a beautiful lake situated at a high altitude of about 4,300 meters (i.e. about 14,100 feet) above sea level. It was named ‘Chandratal’ because its shape is like a half moon.
