From university to competitive exams… changes in these exams due to change in the date of Eid-ul-Azha

The festival of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) will be celebrated on 28th May i.e. Thursday. Earlier the holiday of Bakrid was on 27th May. But later its date changed according to the moon. Due to change in the date of Bakrid, there were changes in many exams. The holiday became 28th May instead of 27th. The result of this was that due to change of Bakrid holiday, the dates of university and competitive examinations changed.

Changes were made in which examinations?

  1. CUET UG: In view of the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, NTA postponed the examination of both the shifts of CUET UG scheduled to be held on May 28. Its new date will be revealed soon. NTA appealed to the students not to panic. Students were advised to keep an eye on the official website. It was also said that the new date of the exam will be revealed soon and admit cards will be issued soon.
  2. Gujarat University: Due to extension of Bakrid holiday, Gujarat University postponed more than 40 examinations. The university has now released the revised dates for all the affected examinations. Earlier, the state government had declared a holiday on May 27 for Eid-ul-Azha. Accordingly, the university had decided the examination schedule. However, later the date of holiday was changed to May 28. Due to this, the university had to make major changes in the examination schedule.
  3. Telangana Inter Board: In view of the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, Telangana Inter Board has changed the date of Environmental Education examination to May 29. This exam was earlier scheduled to be held on 28th May. However, the exam time will be from 10 am to 1 pm only. No changes have been made in this.

Law student filed petition in Delhi HC

A law student of Delhi University has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the decision of the University, under which it was decided to conduct the examination on May 28. The student says that the Central Government has fixed this day as a government holiday for Eid-ul-Azha i.e. Bakrid. It has been said in the petition that conducting exams on festival days violates the fundamental rights of Muslim students. Articles 14, 21, 25 and 29 have been cited in the petition.

Bakrid will be celebrated on 28th May

Let us tell you that Eid-ul-Azha i.e. Bakrid will be celebrated across the country on 28th May. This is a big and important festival of Muslims. It is celebrated in the memory of Prophet Ibrahim. Earlier its date was 27th May. But according to Chand, its date changed later. The most important ritual on Bakrid is ‘Qurbani’. People of Muslim community sacrifice goat, sheep or any other animal on this day.
Eid prayers are offered on this day. Donations are made and happiness is celebrated with the family.
