From the war in Afghanistan to joining SpaceX, who is Anil Memon, who flew to space?

Indian-origin astronaut Anil Menon has left for his first space journey. They are going to the International Space Station (ISS) in Russia’s Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft. He is also accompanied by two Russian cosmonauts, Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina. This flight took place from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. These three astronauts will stay at the space station for about 8 months. There they will conduct scientific experiments and research. All of them may return to Earth in 2027.

According to NASA, they will also participate in demos related to advanced medical and technology. These also include ultrasound procedures, in which augmented reality and artificial intelligence are used to assist astronauts during future deep space missions. In such a situation, those going on this journey for the first time know some important things related to Anil Menon.

Over 1,000 hours of flying experience

Anil Menon was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota (USA). His parents came from India and Ukraine. His wife’s name is Anna Menon and he has two children. He is also a pilot. He has flown more than 1,000 hours and also provides general aviation training. He likes adventure.

He has also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from Harvard University, a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, a Doctor’s degree (MD) from Stanford Medical School, and a Masters in Public Health. He is an expert in aerospace (space related treatment) and emergency medicine (emergency treatment).

Anil Menon was a doctor in the US Air Force. Who played his special role during the war. Treated injured soldiers in the Afghanistan war and saved the lives of sick climbers on Mount Everest.

At Harvard, Menon studied neurobiology and conducted research on Huntington’s disease. Later, she spent a year in India as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to study and help with polio vaccination. Menon joined SpaceX in 2018. Here he started the company’s medical program and helped prepare for the company’s first manned flights. He served as lead flight surgeon for 5 launches.

Have received many awards

Menon has received the SpaceX Kick-Ass Award, NASA JSC Group Achievement Award, William K. Has been awarded the Douglas Award. He has also been honored with many honors by the American Army.
