
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the list of candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections 2026. Many big names have appeared in this list. In this, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh was made the Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh. Whereas Haryana in-charge Satish Poonia and Delhi in-charge Alka Gurjar have been fielded from Rajasthan. Devashish Samantare, who recently left BJD and joined BJP, has been made the candidate from Odisha. Along with this, Debashish Samantrai has been made the candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election in Odisha.
Let us tell you that Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan and Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu did not get the Rajya Sabha ticket this time. There was speculation that former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje would also be sent to Rajya Sabha, but she too did not get a chance. In fact, the tenure of three Rajya Sabha members from Rajasthan, Rajendra Gehlot, Ravneet Singh Bittu and Neeraj Dangi, will end on June 20. Two of these MPs are from BJP and Neeraj Dangi represents Congress.

Elections for Rajya Sabha seats will be held on June 18.
BJP announced Satish Poonia and Alka Gurjar as two of its three candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Rajasthan. Elections for the three Rajya Sabha seats of Rajasthan will be held on June 18. The results will be declared on the same day. These seats became vacant due to the tenure of Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, BJP MP Rajendra Gehlot and Congress MP Neeraj Dangi ending on June 21.
Meaning of candidature of Poonia and Gurjar
BJP sources said that based on its current position in the assembly, the party is in a position to win two seats. The candidature of Poonia and Gurjar is also being seen as an attempt to reach out to key communities including Jats and Gurjars. Both the leaders have held various organizational positions in the party and have been active in state politics for many years.
