The biggest question on the credibility of competitive examinations in the country has been raised by frequent paper leaks. Indian National Congress (INC) has shared a data on X. In which it has been claimed that since 2014 till now, at least 152 cases of paper leaks have been reported across the country. According to this data, most of the cases are related to Delhi and central institutions (38). After this, 11 paper leaks each have been registered in Rajasthan and Gujarat, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, 8 in Bihar and 8 in Madhya Pradesh. These figures show that cases of irregularities in recruitment and entrance examinations have come to light not in one state but in many states across the country.

Delhi and central institutions top
According to the data released by Congress, the maximum number of 38 paper leak cases have come to light in examinations related to Delhi and central government agencies. These include CBSE, NEET, JEE Main, UGC NET, SSC, Railways, CUET, CISF, CRPF and other national level examinations. It is clear from this that the credibility of not only the states but also the central recruitment and entrance examinations has been under question.

According to the data shared by the Indian National Congress, a total of 11 paper leaks have been recorded in Rajasthan, including for REET, RPSC, Forest Guard, Librarian, Junior Engineer, Patwari and other recruitments. On the other hand, 11 cases are also mentioned in Gujarat. Here recruitments like Talati, TAT, Chief Sevika, Naib Chitnis, Lok Rakshak Dal, Clerk, Forest Guard and Junior Clerk were affected. Due to repeated controversies regarding recruitment examinations in both the states, lakhs of candidates had to re-appear.

These include examinations like CPMT, UPPCS Prelims, UP Polytechnic, Police Recruitment, Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET), Lekhpal, UP Board 12th English, UPPSC RO-ARO and UP Police Constable Recruitment. Examinations had to be canceled several times in the state, due to which the preparation and future of lakhs of candidates was affected.

There are also 8 cases registered in Madhya Pradesh, which include MP Board, MP Patwari, MP PNST, Forest Guard and other recruitment examinations. After paper leak in both the states, many examinations had to be re-conducted.

According to the data, 6-6 cases were reported in Maharashtra and Haryana, 5-5 in Jammu and Kashmir and West Bengal, 4-4 in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Telangana, 2-2 in Jharkhand and Kerala, while cases of paper leak were also reported in Punjab, Odisha, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura. It is clear from this that this problem is spread almost in the entire country.
Which exams were affected?
According to the report, the paper leak was not limited to government jobs only. Medical entrance examination NEET, engineering entrance examination JEE, UGC NET, CUET, SSC, Railways, State Public Service Commission examinations, police recruitment, teacher recruitment, board examinations and examinations of technical institutes also got affected. This means that almost every level of examinations, from school level to national recruitment and higher education admissions, has been affected.
