
New revelations are being made every day in the case of theft of Ram temple offerings. On the basis of the SIT report, the police have registered an FIR against 8 accused and arrested them. In this case, the role of officials associated with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is also under question. Along with Trust General Secretary Champat Rai, Trustee Anil Mishra has also resigned from his post. Amidst the uproar of theft of offerings, decisions are being taken from many other temples across the country regarding changes in the donation system.
In fact, after the case of theft of offerings in Ram temple came to light, the discussion regarding the security arrangements of big temples across the country has intensified. New orders have been given regarding the arrangement of donations in Mansha Devi Temple of Haridwar, Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar Temple of Madhya Pradesh, Rajrappa Temple of Jharkhand. At the same time, Village Security Committee has been formed in the temples of Kaushambi district to stop the theft of idols and donations from temples.

Why are the priests of Mansha Devi temple banned from wearing kurtas with pockets?
The Trust of Haridwar’s Mansha Devi Temple has now instructed the priests to wear kurtas without pockets, so that they cannot keep the donations received from the devotees in their pockets. Apart from this, the Trust has formed a 7-member committee, which will monitor the donations and offerings received by the temple on a daily basis. The Trust has said that if any irregularity regarding donations is revealed at any level during the investigation, then action will be taken against the person concerned.

What decision was taken by the Madhya Pradesh government for the management of the temples of the state?
Madhya Pradesh government is going to take a big decision amid the recent controversy over donations and offerings to the Ram temple. To make the donation management system transparent and secure in the major religious places of the state including Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar, the government is going to make the donation system online to the maximum level.
However, in Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar temples, there is a system of taking donations through QR code along with cash donations. But in order to avoid any kind of irregularities regarding donations in these temples in future, cash transactions will be reduced and the process of taking donations online at the digital level will be promoted.
Religious Trusts and Endowments, Culture and Tourism Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi gave information about this action plan of the government during his visit to Omkareshwar temple. He said that transparent management of donations and offerings made with full devotion by the devotees is one of the biggest priorities of our government.

System of taking donations through QR code started in Vindhyavasini Dham also
Now, after darshan and worship at Maa Vindhyavasini Dham of Mirzapur, devotees can donate not only in the form of cash but also by scanning the QR code from their mobile. For this, copies of the QR code for pulses have been pasted at many places in the temple premises. The temple administration says that offerings have started being received through online medium. This amount is being deposited directly into the account of Vindhya Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad.
Why did Village Security Committee have to be formed for the temples of Kaushambi?
On the other hand, in view of the continuous incidents of theft of donations, idols, jewelery and other valuables from temples and religious places in Kaushambi, the Kaushambi Police has started forming a Village Security Committee. Through this, the responsibility of security of temples has now been handed over to the village security committees along with the police. The concerned police station in-charges have been instructed to hold meetings with the village heads and prominent citizens of the area. Apart from this, appointment of permanent priests in these temples is also being considered.
QR codes will be installed on donation boxes in Rajrappa temple of Jharkhand
In order to prevent manipulation of donation amount in Rajrappa Temple of Ramgarh, Jharkhand, the High Court has decided to keep donation boxes inside the premises and paste QR code near it. The High Court gave this order to the Ramgarh administration on the contempt petition filed in the High Court by a petitioner named Sanjeev Kumar Singh.
Banke Bihari Temple digital donation promoted on a large scale
Taking a lesson from the Ram Temple offering theft case, the High Power Committee of Banke Bihari Temple has installed QR codes in all the donation boxes of the temple premises in order to make the offering system more secure and transparent. Although, earlier also donations were taken through QR code, but after the Ram Temple donation controversy, now digital donations are being promoted on a large scale. Besides, a machine has also been installed by SBI in the temple office, which generates dynamic QR code for direct donation. By scanning it you can also give offerings to the temple online.
Ram Temple Offering Theft Case Lessons for Other Temples
The case of embezzlement of donations in Ram temple has created a lot of controversy. Such incidents break the faith of the devotees. Taking a lesson from this incident, the temple committees and trusts across the country are making necessary changes in their management so that in future the donations received from the devotees are not manipulated and any kind of irregularities can be avoided.
