
Bilateral talks were held in Delhi between Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. After this both the leaders also held a joint press conference. During this, many big issues like Iran war, Hormuz, Russia-Ukraine war, energy crisis, terrorism, trade and Indo-Pacific region were discussed. Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that relations between India and America are continuously strengthening. He said that the situation in West Asia, Indian subcontinent and East Asia was also discussed between the two countries.
Jaishankar said that the biggest responsibility of the Indian government is to meet the energy needs of 1.4 billion people. Therefore, availability and cheap price of energy is very important for India. For this reason, detailed discussions were held with America regarding the energy crisis and oil supply. Civil nuclear cooperation was also discussed in the meeting. Both leaders welcomed the increasing cooperation in the energy sector between India and America.
American team will come for trade deal
Jaishankar said that talks regarding trade agreement between India and America are also progressing. The American team will soon come to India so that work on the final draft of the trade deal can be completed. Jaishankar said that this agreement will further strengthen the trade relations between the two countries. The Foreign Minister said that India and America face a common challenge like terrorism. Both countries are working together against terrorism.
India-US important strategic partner: Rubio
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described India as an important strategic partner of America. He said that India and America have similar views on almost all major global issues. Rubio said that the two countries will also work together against drug trafficking and international crime. Rubio also raised the issue of security of international sea lanes. He said that no one can hold the world’s important waterways hostage. The issue of Hormuz Strait is also related to the interests of both India and America.
Raised the issue of visas for Indians
Jaishankar also said that Indians who go to America legally with a visa should not face any kind of problem. If someone enters America illegally, India will cooperate with America in such cases.
Rubio said that there is a serious migration crisis in America. About two crore people are living in America illegally. We have made a migration policy keeping in mind the security of our country. We have not done this by targeting the people of India. It is possible that due to this, some Indians are being affected now, but with the improvement in our system, Indian people will also get convenience in the future.
