
Today is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Indonesia. On Tuesday he held bilateral talks with President Prabowo Subianto. During this period many agreements were signed between the two countries. PM Modi was given a grand welcome at Istana Merdeka, the presidential palace of Indonesia. Along with the guard of honour, he (PM Modi) was also awarded Indonesia’s highest honour.
Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to Indonesia and President Subianto for this. PM Modi said that this is a golden chapter of partnership between India and Indonesia. Both countries are taking steps in every field. This honor is the honor of crores of Indians. Many agreements like defence, security, agriculture, industry were signed between the two countries. Both signed an agreement to supply BrahMos missiles to the Indonesian Army. A deal was also signed between the two countries in the agricultural sector. Agreements were signed in mineral-steel supply, deals were made in medical products.

We are taking important steps in every field- PM Modi
PM Modi said that our comprehensive strategic partnership formed in 2018 is taking a new flight today. We are taking important steps in every field like development, security, technology, culture and education. The growing trust between our countries is strengthening our defence, security and maritime cooperation. Today we agreed to increase defense exchanges, disaster management and industrial cooperation.
The Prime Minister said that with the agreement signed today, India’s affordable medicines will be more easily available to Indonesia. We will also contribute to capacity building of Indonesia’s doctors and health care workers. The supply of wheat seeds developed in India will further strengthen Indonesia’s food security. We will also share best practices in sustainable farming and agricultural technology with each other.
Today is the second day of PM Modi’s Indonesia tour.
Apart from this, India and Indonesia finalized a framework for cooperation in the field of maritime safety and security. Both countries signed an agreement on minerals and technology for steel supply chain. Let us tell you that Prime Minister Modi reached Indonesia yesterday i.e. on Monday in the first phase of his three-nation tour. He was given a warm welcome at the airport.
PM Modi’s first bilateral visit after 2018
In the year 2018, India and Indonesia had given the status of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to their relations. After this, this is the first bilateral visit of Prime Minister Modi. This visit will further strengthen India’s ‘Act East Policy’. The strategic partnership between the two countries will increase. Let us tell you that both the countries are continuously working on maritime security, joint military exercises and advancing the defense industry.
