Meta has taken a big decision regarding the leadership of messaging platform WhatsApp. The company has appointed Cred founder Kunal Shah as the new global head of WhatsApp. He replaces Will Cathcart, who was leading the world’s most popular messaging platform since 2019. This change is considered very important for WhatsApp which has more than 300 crore active users. The company is now moving beyond chatting and focusing on payments, business messaging and AI based services. In such a situation, Meta hopes that Kunal Shah’s experience will help in taking the platform to the next stage of growth.
