Foolproof preparation for NEET re-exam, mock drill across the country today before the exam

NEET-UG 2026 re-exam will be held on June 21 (Sunday). Before the exam, National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct mock drill across the country on Saturday. To make the exam safe and transparent, multi-layer security has been prepared in collaboration with the police, district administration and central agencies. It is being told that there will be a nationwide mock drill on June 20 from 9 am to 8 pm.

NTA issued a statement saying that it is fully prepared for the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam to be held on Sunday (June 21). He said that the responsibility of safe transportation of confidential examination material has been entrusted to the district administration, police forces and escort team. More than 22.79 lakh candidates will appear in the exam. For this, more than 5000 exam centers have been created in 551 cities of India and 14 abroad. All centers have been declared high-security zones. 18.5 lakh+ candidates have downloaded the admit card. 3.5 lakh candidates opted to change exam city, centre.

15,000 signal jammers deployed at examination centers

According to NTA, more than 2 lakh personnel, 674 city coordinators and 6,669 observers have been deployed to conduct the exam. 2 to 2.5 lakh policemen will handle the security arrangements. 15,000 paramilitary personnel have been deployed in the safe transportation of question papers and OMR sheets. Along with this, additional 1.5 lakh CCTV cameras have been installed. 15,000 signal jammers have been deployed at the examination centres.

All centers will be monitored

It is being told that all the centers will be monitored in real-time from the NTA headquarters and control room. More than 2 lakh officers and employees have been involved in conducting the examination. According to NTA, the exam will be held in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. Eligible candidates of PwD and PwBD category will be allowed to write the exam till 6:20 pm, giving additional time.

decision to re-examine

Actually, NEET-UG examination was conducted across the country on 3 May 2026. After the examination, allegations of question paper leak and some candidates getting the paper in advance came to light from many states. NTA canceled the examination on May 12 after finding indications of irregularities in the investigation. After this, based on the review of the Central Government and the investigating agencies, it was decided to conduct the examination again.

Checking security and operating systems

NTA has said that the security and operational arrangements will be tested through a mock drill organized on Saturday before the exam. The responsibility of safely delivering exam question papers and other confidential material to the exam centers has been given to the district administration, police and escort teams. Center superintendents and invigilators will also be present at all the centres. Multi-layered arrangements have been made for the security of the exam. Confidential question papers and other materials will be kept under sealed protocol. The vehicles carrying exam material will have GPS tracking and will be provided with police escort. All the exam centers will be under CCTV surveillance and their live monitoring will be done from the centralized control room.

Monitoring social media platforms

NTA said that social media platforms are being continuously monitored so that rumors and irregularities can be prevented. NTA has appealed to the candidates to trust the official information and avoid paper leaks or rumors related to the exam. Information about suspicious messages and channels has been asked to be given to NTA or cyber crime agencies.
