Food supply stopped in POJK… Leaders accuse Pakistan of suppressing the protest

New serious allegations have been made against the Pakistan government and security forces amid the ongoing agitation and protests in Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK). Some political leaders and agitators of POJK claim that Pakistan has started restricting the supply of food items to the region. Due to which people are facing problems.

The agitators allege that fruits, vegetables, meat and other food items are being confiscated during checking of vehicles near Dahangali entry point of Mirpur. Vehicles are not being allowed to enter Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He says that this step has been taken to suppress the ongoing public movement in the area and to put pressure on the people.

Accused of crushing the movement

Some local leaders have alleged in social media and public statements that Pakistani security forces have started a “food blockade”. He said that the Pakistan government is not only trying to crush the movement but the common people are also being harassed. Leaders have condemned it, calling it a step against human rights.

Food blockade allegations sparked new debate

For the last several weeks, protests and agitations have been going on in Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on various issues. The agitators are continuously raising their voice against the policies of the Pakistan government, while the administration is talking about maintaining law and order.
At present, allegations of food blockade have sparked a new debate regarding the situation in POJK and more reactions may emerge on this issue in the coming days.

Situation is worsening in PoK

The situation in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) seems to be worsening. Large scale demonstrations are taking place in many areas including Rawalakot, Bagh, Hattian Bala, Kotli, Mirpur, Sudhnoti, Dhirkot, Dadyal and Muzaffarabad. So far, more than 1.5 lakh people have joined this movement. The protesters are carrying wooden sticks and banners and raising slogans in support of Kashmir’s independence. It is reported that so far 11 people have died and more than 70 have been injured in the brutal firing by Pakistani Army and Police.
