India on Sunday completely rejected Pakistan’s allegations linking it to yesterday’s attack on the Sindh Rangers compound in Karachi. India described the allegations as “baseless” and asked Islamabad to instead focus on dismantling terrorist infrastructure operating from its soil.
Pakistan Responding to media queries on reports that blamed India for the attack, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that New Delhi completely rejects these claims.
Jaiswal said, “We have seen Pakistani reports making baseless allegations against India regarding the recent incident in Karachi. We completely reject them.”
Pakistan should stop “pointing fingers at others”
In a sharp reaction, he said Pakistan should stop “pointing fingers at others” and instead take credible action against terror networks operating on its territory.

The MEA spokesperson further said, “Pakistan would be better off looking inward, taking credible action against terrorist infrastructure in its territory, and getting rid of its habit of relying on terrorism as a state policy.”
The statement comes a day after heavily armed terrorists attacked the Sindh Rangers compound in Karachi, resulting in a massive gunbattle in which four paramilitary personnel were killed.
Terrorist attack in Karachi on Saturday
According to Pakistani officials, the attack took place on Saturday evening when terrorists attacked the Bhittai Wing Headquarters of Sindh Rangers in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi. Security officials said the attackers drove a vehicle through the main gate and then went inside and threw grenades, causing several explosions.
The firing took place for a long time after the counter-attack by the Rangers soldiers. Later, Special Security Unit (SSU) commandos and anti-terrorist forces also joined the operation, which lasted for about 90 minutes.
Pakistani security forces said six terrorists were killed while one injured attacker was captured alive. Four Rangers soldiers also lost their lives in the attack. Responsibility for this attack has been claimed by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a terrorist group affiliated with Ban Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). This group has been responsible for many attacks targeting security forces and government institutions in Pakistan.
Big terrorist attack in Karachi after 2024
The attack was the first major terrorist incident in Karachi since October 2024, when two Chinese engineers were killed in a suicide bombing near Karachi Airport. It was also the biggest attack by TTP-linked militants in the city since the attack on Karachi police office in 2023.
After the attack, officials sealed the area and launched a security operation. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed senior police officials to submit a detailed report on the incident, while emergency response teams were deployed at the spot.
The Karachi attack comes amid growing security concerns in Pakistan and new tensions with Afghanistan. Islamabad has repeatedly accused the Taliban-led Afghan government of allowing TTP militants to operate from Afghan territory and carry out cross-border attacks, allegations that Kabul has denied.
