In West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by Subhendu Adhikari presented its first budget. In its first budget, the government has tried to satisfy every aspect. The government has announced a huge increase in DA (Dearness Allowance). Also, retired journalists will be given a pension of Rs 5000. In the budget, special allowance will be given to those people who were sent to jail in false cases. Also, pregnant and lactating women will be given Rs 21,000 at one time. Pink card will also be started.
Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta presented the budget 2026-27 of the Subhendu Adhikari-led government. While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said that AI is impacting the entire world. We are starting AI Impact Program for West Bengal.
He also said that online examination, online scrutiny, online verification and tracking will be done with the initiative of the state government. Even auction of sand, coal and boulders will be done online.
The BJP government has increased the amount of MLA fund for expenditure in its first budget. Now it has been increased from Rs 70 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Whereas a fund of Rs 50 crore was allocated for river erosion.
