Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar left for Delhi from Patna on Thursday. Janata Dal United (JDU) working president Sanjay Jha was also present with him. Though his visit to Delhi came at a time when a private hospital caught fire in Muzaffarpur district this morning, killing at least 4 people, he came to Delhi instead of visiting the hospital. Not only this, he did not say anything even after several hours had passed after the accident. RJD has targeted this yatra.

A massive fire broke out in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of a private hospital in Muzaffarpur district in the early hours of Thursday, killing at least 3 people. Many sick people were injured. While about 13 to 15 patients were undergoing treatment in the ICU, they have been admitted to other hospitals.

Investigation into the incident started: Hospital management

The hospital administration says that initially it is suspected that the fire broke out due to short circuit in the ICU ward. The fire spread rapidly in the ward, due to which the ICU was filled with smoke and there was great difficulty in taking out the patients. As soon as information about the incident was received, a rescue operation was started in the hospital.

The hospital management said that it is fully cooperating with the administration and investigation into the incident has been started. Officials believe that information is being collected regarding some patients, so the possibility of the death toll increasing cannot be ruled out.

Even after the massive fire incident in a hospital in Muzaffarpur, the state Health Minister did not give any reaction till 12 noon nor did he visit the hospital. Instead he left for Delhi. However, he later expressed grief over the accident by posting on social media.
