FIFA World Cup 2026: Is the shadow of ‘witchcraft’ removed from Harry Kane? 60 years old history repeated, gave a big victory to England

July 2, 2026 by Uma Shankar

England vs DR Congo, FIFA World Cup 2026: In the FIFA World Cup 2026, England has registered such a historic victory by defeating Congo in the round of 32 knockout match, which is being discussed more due to superstitions outside the field and claims on social media than the game itself. Just after a famous Ghanaian magician claimed to ‘free the curse’ of English captain Harry Kane, Kane performed on the field in such a way that he single-handedly scored 2 goals to give England a victory. With this victory, England once again achieved a 60-year-old record in the history of the Football World Cup, which they had never been able to repeat since 1966.

What was the whole story of Ghana’s Tantrik?

In fact, during the group stage, a match was played between England and Ghana on 23 June, which ended in a shocking 0-0 draw. Before that match, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, a Ghanaian magician, had claimed that he had cast a spell on Harry Kane and he would not be able to score a goal against Ghana. Bonsam’s prediction appeared to be true when Harry Kane, who had scored two goals against Croatia, had only 19 touches of the ball in the entire 90 minutes of play against Ghana. After missing an easy chance to score a goal in the last moments of the match, fans on social media jokingly started attributing it to the magic of a Tantrik and this matter started trending rapidly.

But just a week before England’s knockout match, the same Ghanaian magician created a sensation on the internet by issuing a new statement. The sorcerer claimed that he had removed his magic from Harry Kane and promised that now Kane will perform brilliantly on the field. After which Harry Kane appeared in a different form on the field. At one time in the knockout match, the England team was trailing after conceding the first goal and they were in danger of being out of the tournament. But Harry Kane turned the entire match upside down.

Harry Kane repeated 60 years old feat

In this match played at the Atlanta Stadium, England fell behind after conceding a goal in the seventh minute. But in the second half, Harry Kane made a strong comeback for the team and gave the team the lead by scoring two goals in no time. With this, the England team managed to make a comeback and win the match after conceding the first goal in the knockout stage after 60 years in the history of the FIFA World Cup. Earlier, in the 1966 World Cup, the team had fallen behind after conceding the first goal against Germany and then came back and won.
