There are countless fans of football in India too. There is good news for these fans. Maharashtra government has decided to keep hotels and restaurants open till 4 am on Monday. An order has been issued in this regard.
Mumbai The National Restaurant Association of India had requested that all eateries, hotels and restaurants in Maharashtra be allowed to remain open till morning on July 19, on the occasion of the final match of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Regarding this demand, as per the provisions of Section 33 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, eateries, hotels and restaurants in the state have been allowed to remain open till 4 am the next day on July 19, 2026, provided the following conditions are applicable.
Know what are the conditions of the government
The state government has imposed some conditions while issuing the license. The owner of the establishment has been asked to deploy a large number of private security guards inside and outside the establishment and ensure that no law and order problem arises at the said place.
Also, if any inappropriate incident/crime occurs inside or outside the establishment and a crime is committed due to it, the entire responsibility for the same will be on the owner of the establishment. Accordingly, action will be taken against the owner/licensee of the establishment.
no compromise on security
The time limit for obtaining premises license is being relaxed. However, it will be mandatory for the owner of the establishment to follow the Sound Broadcasting Act and rules. Also, in this regard, the use of loudspeakers and sound amplification systems should be as per the directions given from time to time by the Hon’ble Supreme Court or the High Court.
The above permission to extend the time is being given only to establishments located in closed places or buildings. Keeping in view the peace and work order, the local police administration will have the right to refuse to give relaxation in the above time restrictions as necessary. Also, instructions have been given to all concerned to maintain tight security everywhere.
