Recalling the early days of his career in an interview given in 2017, Salah said that initially he played for a club which was half an hour away from his village. He told that he used to train there 5 days a week.

Salah further told in the interview that he used to take early leave from school for training. He used to reach school at 7 in the morning and leave from there at 9 o’clock. For this he had special permission so that he could reach training by 2 o’clock.
Salah said that he used to reach for training by 2-2.30 o’clock. Training started at 3:30-4 o’clock and ended at 6 o’clock. He would leave for home after 6 o’clock and reach home by 10-10:30. Then after eating and drinking, they would sleep and the next day the same routine again.
