Fierce form of flood in Assam-Arunachal, bridges and roads washed away like straw, next 24 hours very critical

At present, the situation in two north-eastern states, Assam and Arunachal, is bad due to floods. Many areas of Arunachal have been submerged due to floods and landslides caused by continuous rains. Many roads and bridges were washed away like straw. Many residential buildings have been damaged. Many districts of Arunachal and Assam have been affected by floods and rains. There is a possibility of more rain in the next 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department has said that more than 200 mm of rain is expected in some parts of Arunachal in the next 24 hours. In view of this, the government has issued an alert and appealed to the people to remain alert.

Three dead so far in Arunachal

Panyor district of Arunachal has been most affected by the floods. So far, three people have been confirmed dead due to rain and floods while two others are missing. The body of a 35-year-old woman was recovered on Wednesday, while the body of another woman was found on Saturday. Yesterday i.e. Sunday, it has been five days since the search operation. NDRF team is engaged in rescue work.

Assam: More than 22,000 people affected in six districts

On the other hand, the situation in Assam is also bad. Six districts here are in the grip of floods. More than 22,000 people in six districts have been affected by this first wave of continuous heavy rains in the state. A total of 22,124 people have been affected by the floods in Dhemaji, Nalbari, Dibrugarh, Chirang, Lakhimpur and Kokrajhar districts. Dhemaji remains the most affected district. 15,483 people have been affected due to rising water level here.

Amit Shah spoke to Assam CM Sarma

The 12th battalion of NDRF has safely rescued 24 people trapped in the flooded Dikari river near Lakhipathar Tiniyali, Dhemaji. This includes 9 men, 8 women, 5 children and 2 newborns. According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), about 16,000 people in 69 villages of Dhemaji district have been affected by the floods. On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the CM of Assam.

During this, both the leaders discussed the situation of heavy rains and floods in Assam. Home Minister Amit Shah assured all possible help to Assam. CM Sarma had tweeted on Sunday that he is constantly keeping an eye on the flood situation in Dhemaji. We are deeply saddened by the impact of the floods. We stand with them in this difficult time.
