She was just one step away from becoming a millionaire, but a misunderstanding turned her happiness into mourning in an instant.
Cath is a mother of two children and works as treasurer in a rugby club. She told that for the last 20 years she had been buying lottery tickets with the same combination of numbers every time. He had so much faith in these numbers that he never changed them. He chose the same numbers for the June 6 draw and this time his mother Fiona bought the ticket for him.
A few days later, when the lottery results came, it was reported in the news that no one has yet claimed the jackpot of about 12 million pounds i.e. about Rs 150 crore. Hearing this news aroused curiosity in Kaith’s mind. He matched his old numbers and his eyes lit up with joy as soon as he saw them. All the numbers were matching perfectly. He was convinced that this time his luck had run out.

Overjoyed, Cath immediately called her mother Fiona and asked if she had kept the tickets. At first the mother said that she had bought the ticket, but when Kath told that the same ticket had turned out to be a winner worth crores of rupees, then the ground slipped from under Fiona’s feet. He told that he no longer has the ticket. Actually, after the results came, Fiona went to a lottery shop in Abersinan area with the ticket to get it checked. The employee present there scanned the ticket in the machine, but no sound came from the machine to indicate that the ticket was a winner. The employee told them that there was no prize on this ticket. After this he asked if she wanted to take the ticket back.
Fiona wondered what was the point of keeping the ticket when it was useless. He told the employee to throw away the ticket. The employee also threw the ticket in the dustbin without any doubt. At that time no one had any idea that the paper which was being thrown away considering it useless was the key to crores of rupees. When Kath learned of her win and tried to find the ticket, it was too late. The shop had been cleared of trash and the ticket had disappeared forever. This is the reason why now she is facing the biggest challenge to prove her victory.
However, Kath did not give up. He has given many important evidence to Allwin, the official company running the lottery. He has provided digital record of ticket purchase. Apart from this, CCTV footage of the doorbell camera of a neighboring salon has also been collected, in which her mother is seen going to the shop with the ticket. Kath hopes that on the basis of this evidence the company will believe him.

On the other hand, shop owner Karan Kumar has also given his reaction on this matter. He says that when this incident happened, repair and renovation work was going on in the shop. For this reason the CCTV cameras installed inside were not working. He also expressed the possibility that there might have been a technical fault in the lottery scanning machine that day, due to which the ticket could not be read properly.
After the matter came to light, Allwin Company has taken it seriously. The company has seized the concerned lottery terminal for investigation and has started a high level investigation into the entire matter. Officials have said that it will take about 30 days to complete the investigation. During this time, the technical condition of the machine, ticket scanning process and all available evidence will be closely examined.

Kath Main says that he never thought that the biggest happiness of life would slip away from him like this. There is still hope in her eyes that she will get justice after the investigation, but at the same time the pain is clearly visible that just because she did not have a piece of paper, she was deprived of her biggest victory.
