Fare is same, time is 14 hours more, why is it taking so much time to go from Noida airport to Thailand as compared to Delhi?

June 15, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Commercial flight operations have finally started from the much awaited Noida International Airport (Jewar) in Uttar Pradesh. It is being considered a big option for the passengers of Delhi-NCR, but looking at the fares and travel time of the initial international flights, the picture does not look that attractive for the passengers going to Thailand at present. Because it takes about 19 hours to go from here to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and the fare is also around Rs 22 thousand.

According to the information available on Make My Trip online travel portals, the cheapest flight fare from Noida (Jewar) to Bangkok on June 16 is around Rs 21,633. The passengers are taking approximately 18 hours 55 minutes in this journey. This is because the flight is not direct and involves a stopover in Hyderabad.

You will reach Thailand from Delhi in just 4 hours

At the same time, if we look at the flight from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) to Bangkok on the same day, then Air India’s non-stop flight is reaching Bangkok in just 4 hours 20 minutes. The fare for this flight appears to be around Rs 21,722. That means there is a difference of only about Rs 100 in fare, but there is a big difference of about 14 hours 35 minutes in travel time.

Why is it taking so much time?

Overall, the fare to travel from Jewar will be a little less but it will take more time. The reason for the higher fare from Jewar is that at present there is no direct flight from here to Bangkok. In the initial phase of the new airport, the number of flights and airlines remains limited. As more domestic and international airlines expand their networks, the possibility of starting direct international routes from Jewar will increase. This will reduce travel time and there may be competition in fares as well.
