Explosion in gas plant in Ras Laffan, Qatar, 12 Indian citizens killed

An explosion occurred in a gas plant factory in Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial city on Monday. 12 Indian citizens died in this incident. Qatar officials have confirmed this news. Meanwhile, expressing deep condolences to the families of the deceased, the Indian Embassy has prayed for the peace of the departed souls.

The Indian Embassy in Qatar said that the condition of all the people injured in the accident is now stable and they are receiving proper medical care. The Embassy is in constant touch with the Qatari authorities and is working to provide all possible assistance to the affected Indian nationals and their families. The embassy is also ensuring that the mortal remains of the deceased are brought back to India as soon as possible.

Embassy issued helpline numbers for help

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has issued a statement on this matter. The Indian Embassy in Qatar has expressed its deepest condolences to the families affected by the tragic incident that took place on Sunday in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Know how the incident happened

It is being told that a technical glitch occurred during an attempt to restart the Barzan Gas Supply Facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar on Sunday night. After this there was a huge explosion and then a fire broke out. Initial reports suggested a missile attack from Iran, but later Qatar’s Interior Ministry clarified that no attack had taken place. This incident happened due to a technical fault.

A total of 13 employees died, 66 injured

13 employees died in this incident. In which 12 Indian citizens were included. While 66 others were injured. After the accident, the Indian Embassy confirmed the death of 12 Indians and said that the condition of the injured was stable. The Embassy is working closely with the Government of Qatar to help the affected families and expedite the process of repatriating the bodies to India.
