Ahmed Khan On His Next Movie Baap: Just imagine, if Sunny Deol’s ‘Dhai Kilo Ka Haath’, Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Killer Swag’, Mithun Chakraborty’s iconic style and Jackie Shroff’s cool ‘Bhidu’ style are there in one film… then what will be the atmosphere of the theatre? This is not some imaginary casserole, but very soon this dream of the audience is going to come true on the big screen. Director Ahmed Khan, who is celebrating the huge success of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, told in a special conversation with TV9 Hindi Digital that he is soon going to give a big gift to the fans of desi action films.

When we asked Ahmed Khan that after working with almost all the big stars of the industry, does he have any ‘wishlist’ left? Smiling at this he gave a very interesting answer. Ahmed said, “A filmmaker’s aspirations never end. New faces keep coming into the industry, but no one can replace the old masters.”

‘OG’ action superstars in one frame

Revealing a big secret, he said, “Our upcoming film ‘Baap’ is a project that is close to my heart. It was always my wife and I’s desire to bring together these four original ‘OG’ action superstars of the 80s in the same camera frame. Our aim is to bring back the original cinematic action that had set the trend for action films in India.”

No VFX, ‘raw and desi’ action will be seen

The eighties is considered the golden era of action films in Bollywood. In that era, there was neither modern technology like today nor was VFX used much. The heroes created havoc on screen with their expressions and powerful dialogue delivery. In today’s era, where superheroes and heavy animation films are prevalent, ‘Baap’ will take the audience back to the same old, powerful and dusty ‘raw’ action era for which Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt are known.

‘Baap’ will be released in October

This grand project has been produced on a large scale by Ahmed Khan, while the command of its direction is in the hands of Vivek Chauhan. The post-production work of the film is almost complete. Ahmed is confident that seeing the way this film has been designed, the makers are confident that when these four legends will enter the screen together in October, there will be a flood of whistles and applause in the theatres. So, fasten your seat belts, because this October is going to be in the name of the real ‘Father’ of full-on action. Ahmed has said that his film will be released in October, but the date is yet to be announced.
